All went well last week on the kitchen/diner job in Peterborough, so much so that we managed to get all our work done by 10am on the Friday, therefore getting a few hours off to enjoy the sunshine. We only had one minor problem, that of the kitchen lighting electrics. We took the ceiling down, and found lots of lighting cables, some we knew what they were, some we didn’t! With my main electrician on holiday, and my back up electrician on holiday, I had to find a new electrician, very quickly. Fortunately we got a recommendation to try MHJ Electricals of Peterborough. Their service was great, and Matt the electrician came out for 8am the next day to sort out the cables and run the cables for the new lighting circuit. Job sorted.
While Dave skims the kitchen/diner ceiling in Peterborough on the Monday, and Jo starts the floor tiling on the Tuesday, Stu and I have started work on an extension in Ramsey. This week we have some site clearance to carry out, getting rid of all the trees and bushes in the garden, and then we have two existing manholes to relocate on site so they don’t get in the way of the new footings.
Wayne the brickie has found somewhere to park his boat in Spain, and is flying back on August 4th to assist with the footings, foundations and brick work.

This week we are working in Longthorpe, Peterborough, knocking through a kitchen wall to create an open plan kitchen/diner, blocking up an existing door way and making good with a plaster skim finish, and removing the existing kitchen ceiling and stud work to replace with new plasterboard and a plaster skim finish.
Next week Stu and I move onto to start a two storey extension in Ramsey, while Dave the plasterer goes into the Longthorpe job to skim the kitchen and dining room ceilings, with Jo the floor tiler moving in on the Tuesday to lay stone tiles across the kitchen, dining room and utility floors.
I’m making my final phone calls this week and finalising my plans to make sure everything is in place and we are ready to go for the Ramsey job. Liaising with David at the builder’s merchants to finalise material quantities and deliveries, and hoping to get in touch with Wayne the brickie who should have found somewhere to park his boat in Spain, and is flying in to assist us on the Ramsey job.

Welcome to Blueberry Property Services blog, where I will be posting a blog each week, so everyone can see what we are doing each week, how well jobs are going, or not as the case maybe! Along the way hopefully it might give you an insight to how we work and the projects we under take. I’m off to a good start, as this week, I am taking a week off, although it is my first week off this year!
